In what takes place in Boaz’s field, the mysterious and unfathomable will of God is revealed. None of the people described in the Book of Ruth realizes this. At each particular moment, they are simply guided by mercy and faithfulness to God. Through this, the Lord draws all these people into the fulfillment of His plan both for them and for all humanity: after all, Boaz and Ruth are to enter the genealogy of the Lord Jesus Christ.
