NOTES for EzeĀ 20:1-44

God shows Israel that its history is woven from constantly recurring apostasies and acts of lawlessness, to which God responds with faithfulness and forgiveness. But God does not intend to permit this again and again. One day, in its new exodus from the land of slavery, He will cleanse His people of rebels and the disobedient. This promise can also be addressed to us: God does not want to leave a person alone with his sins; He will lead him ever onward, toward the adoption of which the Apostle Paul writes.
