NOTES for Exo 36:1-38
The work of building and adorning the tabernacle proceeds according to a precisely laid-out plan. It is written out down to the smallest details: what is to be decorated, how, with what, from what material, and in what size it is to be made. The people weaving the curtains, the carvers, and the jewelers are all "wise in heart." This wisdom does not always consist in understanding things well, or speaking beautifully and explaining why you are doing something one way or another. In our relationship with God, wisdom of heart very often shows itself in doing what God has told you to do directly and unambiguously.
His instructions and requirements may look to us like unjustified extravagance or strange pettiness. But wisdom of heart lies in this: He created this world, and He knows it as we will never be able to know it in our earthly life. In many things we have to take Him at His word.
