9 We see not our signs: there is no more any prophet: neither is there among us any that knoweth how long. |

The time will come, and all nations will stand before judgment. This judgment will not be biased like human tribunals; it will be carried out according to the single and fullest truth known to the Lord. The time of judgment too is in the Lord's hands; He Himself will choose it, and this is another reason why no one is given to know the day or the hour of judgment.
What then will the nations have to drink from the cup that the Lord holds? Elsewhere Scripture also speaks of the cups of the Lord's wrath poured out on a world sunk in sins. It will be hard not only to drink from such cups, but even simply to fall under the streams poured from them.
But the hour will come when the Son of Man offers His disciples another cup: the Cup of the New Covenant. Now we can choose which cup to drink from. And the One who gave us the possibility of choosing between these cups also gave hope for the justice of His judgment.
